See Partee of Four in Sacramento Perfect Wedding Guide!

It's been a minute since I've posted.   I'm not so great at keeping up on this bloggin' thing. Something exciting happened that brought me back here again!   I was a part of a feature in the Sacramento Perfect Wedding Guide Summer Issue. SUPER EXCITED!!   It's a 7 page spread creatively styled by Graceful Gatherings inspired by Pantone's 2014 Color of the Year-Radiant Orchid. It was beautifully photographed by Kurtis Ostrom Photography.  There were so many gorgeous photos!  I don;t envy the person who had to choose the ones to be published!  Lucky for us, Kurtis was kind enough to share his stunning pictures with all of the vendors involved in this fun project.  So...check out the magazine!  And be sure to stay tuned for more ....

The magazine is full of wedding ideas. Check it out! My favorites start on page 31. *wink wink*

Happy reading!

Upcoming Events- Gold Country Bridal Faire

There are so many wedding trends that I am LOVING! If I were planning my wedding this year, it would be so hard for me to choose which route to go! (We celebrate 10 years of marriage next month!) One of my favorites is vintage.  Pearls, lace, roses, burlap...I love it all!  I just created some new vintage inspired wedding invitations, menus, place cards and escort cards for Grace of Graceful Gatherings who will be a vendor at the Gold Country Bridal Faire on March 30th.
Grace is so creative and will have a beautiful booth!  Here are a few pictures of what I created for her.  If you are local and need a wedding planner, stop by Grace's booth!

What wedding trends are you loving right now?  What's your "must have"?  I'd love to hear from you!  I love getting a little creative inspiration from brides too!

Wedding Stationery Timeline

To make wedding planning a bit easier, stay organized!!  One of the best ways to keep on track is to have a  timeline and a check list.  Being a stationery/invitation designer, I get questions all the time about when to order and send out invitations, thank yous, etc.  Here is a wedding stationery timeline I created.

I'm working on a wedding planning checklist too!  Stay tuned.......

2014 Wedding Trend / Using Succulents

Meet Grace!  She is the owner/operator of Graceful Gatherings in Northern California.   Who better to get the scoop on the latest wedding trends than an event coordinator!

Trend Alert: Using succulents in your wedding!
Growing up on a farm, I have always had a love for plants and flowers. When I started seeing pictures of succulents used in wedding bouquets, favors, and décor I knew it was going to start trending soon! Succulents are unique looking, easy to grow, and budget friendly too. You can use them in your bouquet, centerpieces, and even as favors for your guests.
Succulents are ornamental plants that have thick, fleshy, water-storing stems or leaves. Even if you don’t have a green thumb, you can grow succulents. They don’t require much water or attention and are quite forgiving. To make a new plant simply cut off a small portion of the plant you already have and place it in a small pot of fresh potting soil or cactus soil. Adding some small rocks at the bottom of the pot (about 1 inch) will help with drainage. Be sure to keep the soil moist until the plant becomes more developed.
Because you can propagate succulents yourself, using them for your wedding can really save on your floral and décor budget. Many florists are willing to add them to your arrangements or assemble them for you if you would like an entire bouquet of succulents. If you are having a summer wedding you won’t have to worry about your succulents drooping because they are very drought tolerant and will last without water for weeks at a time. You can use them in traditional bouquets, boutonnieres, add them to your hair or accessorize your shoes!
Why use succulents for your wedding?

  • They can live for weeks without water and still look beautiful! No more worrying about your floral arrangements withering in the heat.
  • They are available year round and come in a wide variety of unique shapes and colors to compliment any wedding style.
  • They look beautiful alone or paired with practically any fresh flowers.
  • You can keep them forever! If you create your bouquet with succulents, even if you remove the roots, they will re-root and you can replant them when you’re done using them. Very eco-friendly!
  • They are inexpensive, you can get cuttings online for about $1 and use them for boutonnieres, favors, or décor. If you have time to let them grow, you will have enough to make your entire bouquet for $1!

If you’re interested in purchasing succulents directly from our farm or having some propagated for you check us out online at www.gracefulgatherings.net

Are you loving this trend?!  I am!  I've seen so many beautiful bouquets and centerpieces using succulents. Browse Pinterest for ideas and inspiration.  Thank you Grace for all the great info!  Check out Grace's website for more information on what her company has to offer.
Happy Sunday!
