Planning a party

I don't know about you, but I love planning parties!  Especially for my kids.  My daughter (who is 6) was born on May 18th and my son (who is 2) was born on May 14th.  Yep.....4 days apart.  I intended on having a double party for them as along as I could.  I have a feeling I'm not going to get away with it much longer.  My daughter is in first grade now and has her little buddies who I'm sure don't want a little brother running through their girly fun! Here is the invitation I made for their party last year.  I took my daughter to the store and let her pick out the paper and I went from there!  We went with gender neutral colors and I let them pick a different themes for their cakes.

Did I mention that I have an amazing cake decorating sister!?  My daughter wanted Hello Kitty, and my son wanted Cars.

We had cupcakes to go with these adorable cakes too! Want to see more sweet treats?  Check out my sister's Facebook page. Sprinkles N Sweets

Planning a great party is fun and can be a lot of work.  Using a checklist can really help keep you on track and within your budget. I always end up having a bunch of lists piled in the bottom of my purse, so I came up with a checklist that should cover all my planning needs!  Maybe it can help you too!   Happy Party Planning!

Did you know?

This whole blogging thing is very new to me. Keeping up on social media is a job in it's own!  I'm learning as I go and fortunately, there are many bloggers out there who share their knowledge and experiences.  My bloglovin' feed is FULL!  I am reading away!

It was come to my attention (thanks to fellow blogger and friend, The Cocktail Lady cocktail365@blogspot.com) that you CANNOT use pictures that don't belong to you.  I read an article she shared from BlogHer.  A blogger shared her story about being sued for using pictures on her blog.  Yes...SUED!  It didn't matter that she gave photo credit ( linking it back to the photographer) or that she had a disclaimer on her site.  Wow...scary huh!?   That was enough for me to hear.  I took down the few photos I had on these last few posts!  Just a little FYI!  Happy Blogging! ;)

2014 Wedding Trends

When planning your wedding, do you consider the newest wedding trends or do you just go with what you like no matter the trends?  I have to say I would have a very hard time choosing!  There are so many trends from this year and last that I just LOVE!!  Here are a few that Brides.com shared on the Today Show.

For the Bride: Separates!  Yes, a two piece gown! Two piece gowns can be very flattering and fit any body type.  Another trend for Brides is BLING!  A jeweled neckline that makes a statement.  Less accessories needed. Just add some earrings and you're set!

For the Groom:  Boxy tuxedos are so 90s!  Suits are more modern with a narrow tailored fit.
If your Groom prefers a tux, keep it modern by going with color like grey or blue.
